AMERA'S DRUM SOLOS
proudly presented by Renee's Magical Belly Dancing
Celebrating Amera's CD "AL RA' KASA WE
TABBAL"
Drum Solo's & Music For Oriental Dance
This workshop is suitable for the Intermediate to Advanced
Student.
For Teachers & Professional Dancers. A note from Renee - Being
artistic in the approach to this beautiful & ancient dance. I have
became very observant of the different styles dancers have developed.
I was intrigued with Amera's shimmies as I became aware of her
style while watching her perform in 1994. When it came to finding the
right person to invite into my world of teaching, I immediately
thought of Amera. Since then I am pleased to say (from my observation)
that she has developed & grown further, as all good dancers do.
She truly symbolises the journey of a belly dancer who has improved
& refined her style over many years. Amera was influenced by
varied dancers & teachers both from Australia & overseas.

Amera's Enchanting Style
Amera has an easy flow to her Drum Solos. Graced with abundant
shimmies with varied layerings of hip & rib techniques with well
working arms, a mixture of strong to soft hands & uplifting
general presentation. She hears & feels the music. Her rhythm is
intriguingly sharp & well composed. Her posture is refined with
neat feet, varied smiles, roaming head & sparkling eyes. Small
& subtle to large hip movements. Gentle yet varied emotional
expressions that fade in & out. Her personality shines through
which makes it a pleasure to watch, as you become involved with her
enchanting style.

Helpful Hints & Suggestions
Repeat the video as often as you like As you become familiar with
Amera's Style your eyes will eventually see the varied shimmies
& layering techniques. Worming up to suit your own needs - This is
entirely left up to your own knowledgeable skills & experience as
an intermediate to advanced dancer. Main techniques used - vibrating
shimmies & side shimmies with the layering of the many varied hip
& rib techniques such as - pelvic circles, figure eights,
undulation & reverse, belly & rib rolls. Arms, hands, head
& steps can be easily observed.
The hip belt fringes create certain distinctive movements
- Vibrating shimmies - the fringe vibrates, swings small &
evenly.
- Side shimmies - fringes create a larger more vigorous swing.
- Side hips - single or double time - fringe flicks to the sides.

Amera's style.
Version 3 - the opening of the video - How to move around
& about to make the dance more interesting. Also note expressions,
accents & looks. Feet are always neat. Posture is always
beautiful. Arms are smoothly working in conjunction with the hips. The
