The new DVD volume 2 - has been revamped with an added Workshop segment featuring extra practice, new techniques, more veil work and an inspiring dance, featuring smooth and flowing transitions from one technique to another.
HIP ROTATION
Learning to isolate your hips with a rotating movement. This is a very import and foundation technique. This technique will also helps you to become more flexible. It is also a legitimate technique of its own.
HIP TWIST
The hip twist is derived from a flexible hip rotation. You learn to twist one hip only. Then alternating to the other hip. There is ample practice time for the stiffest of hips. Also learning to twist around, forwards and twisting around going backwards.
PELVIC SCOOP
This technique is derived from a flexible pelvic tilt, which was learned in volume 1. The pelvic scoop is the forerunner
to help you learn the lower undulation. Pelvic scoop is also used as an accent to accent a beat.
LOWER UNDULATION
The lower undulation is derived from a flexible and rounded pelvic scoop. Later you can add a tummy tuck or tummy "pull ins" which helps to
create a more rounded undulation. The tummy "pull in" will eventually lead to the tummy flutters.
SIDE HIPS
This practice segment helps you to understanding and "feel" rhythms and beat. It is very important to practice the varied side hips often. This segment continues on from volume 1, to develop your
sense of rhythm and tempos which leads ultimately into good shimmy techniques. Starting from slow and building up to faster tempos. Also incorporating 3/4 time, where you move 3 out of 4 beats.
The 3/4 time will eventually help to cement the shimmy walk or Egyptian walk, learned in volume 3 and continued on in volume 7.
SHIMMIES
Side hips and shimmies are part of the same family. The hips are danced from side to side. The varied side hips are executed in slow to medium tempos, while the shimmies are created with a fast tempo. The varied side hips and shimmies are
classical techniques of belly dance. Oriental Dancing is another way of expressing belly dance.
DANCING SHOULDERS
This is a lovely practice dance enabling you to "feel" and enjoy the art of dancing with your shoulder. Including isolated shoulder rolls and presses, accenting the beat and melting into varied snake arms. Learning to isolate, alternate, combine and layering techniques that lead to full body movements. Appreciating the artful and emotional expressions that the shoulders can convey. Including playful hips, sensual figure eight's, temple buff, snaking the steeple and a good finishing pose.
THREE STEP TURNS
Learned separately, practiced at a slow to medium pace. Concentrates on placement of Neat Feet and using Toe Taps to gain composure. They are a very useful sequence of steps to
create turns. These steps can be used in place of spins as they are danced both ways, alternating equally from right to left. You will learn how to find your balance as you practice them. Hip drops are also included with varied new arm techniques.

TOE TAPS
Controlling your feet, also an intricate part of finishing off a movement for good polished dancing and maintaining balance.
SPINS THE MAGIC CIRCLE
The spins need time and practice to develop, so we start at square one, at a slow pace only. Learning to developing a sense of space and balance to accomplish spinning with or without the Veil.
VEIL DANCING
Learning how to hold and handle the veil elegantly. Several techniques of draping, floating and swirling the veil. Also Butterfly wing, presenting veil arms, cameo, diamond arms, step points and leans. Also including a slow spin which ends with a veil pose.
The veil dance incorporated many hip techniques learned so far.
All Veil techniques are taught within a delightful practice dance.
ARM and HAND TECHNIQUES
Some new techniques intermingled with old (volume 1). They are combined within most practice segment including Dancing Shoulders, Lower Undulations, Side Hips, Shimmies, Three Step Turns and Veil dancing. Arm and hand techniques need not be included if you find it difficult to coordinate with hip techniques. You can practice them separately.
The CENTER STEPS.
A very useful set of steps that are very commonly used through out all styles of belly dance. These steps will eventually lead into the Grape Vine. These steps are executed with and without the veil.
HIP DROPS
A special segment where hip drops are illustrated in slow motion, then practiced, later alternated with side hips, figure eight,
pelvic circles and simple arm techniques. This will continue to help with co ordination.
More VEIL WORK
Extra practice - Foot work in slow motion with veil techniques.
Another veil dance. Highlighting new dream like, taqsim veil work. Excellent for slow veil dancing.
SOMETHING SPECIAL
Techniques learned from volume 1 and 2 are combined and are illustrated within a beautiful dance. The style is elegant, artful, expressive and flowing, with smooth transitions from one technique to another, that compliment the rhythm, tempo and melody. Featuring simple arm and hand movements. For fun family participation or dancing solo.
The style is elegant Egyptian.
