This workshop video is suitable for the intermediate to advanced belly dance student, teachers & professional performer.
Amera has an easy and graceful flow to her drum solos with well working arms, a mixture of strong and soft hands with very good presentation. She hears &feels the music. Her rhythm is intriguingly sharp and well composed. Her posture is refined with neat feet, varied smiles, roaming head and sparkling eyes. Small & subtle to large hip movements. Gentle yet varied emotional expressions that fade in & out. Her personality shines through which makes it a pleasure to watch, as you become involved with her enchanting style.
The dancer needs to have in place the vibrating shimmies & side shimmies with the layering of the many varied hip techniques such as - pelvic circles, figure eights, undulations, pelvic tilt, belly rolls, rib lift & rolls etc.

Music - Standard solo, short introduction with Saidi rhythm with rolls & teks for rhythm build up, complimented by a strong finale. Featuring 4 versions of combinations and possibilities.

Techniques - How to move around and about to make the dance more interesting. Also note expressions, accents and looks. Feet are always neat. Posture is always beautiful. Arms are working smoothly in conjunction with the hips. The hip work is flowing within the different rhythms.Up close and personal enabling you to get the feel of Amera's movements and expressions.Excellent for the advanced dancer to improve communication with her audience.
Choreographed - Solo Nuria
Music - Short introduction followed by Fallahi rhythms mixed with Saidi.
Techniques - Good view of rib work and side steps. Up close and personal. Observe and practice rib & hip techniques. Close observation of eyes and varied smiles. Turns and head movements. Excellent for refining and enriching your understanding of movements.
Choreographed - Ya Amera
Music - Long choreographed introduction entering into Maksoum (medium speed) with full percussion section, that will fade out leaving the tablah solo alone with "doums" and "teks".
Techniques - Feet and arms. The overall composure of the body with the subtle yet distinctive shimmy variations and layering of hip & rib techniques. Break down of techniques that help you to pin point the movements that you want to practice often. Featuring extra slow motion for better understanding. An excellent segment for students who need to sort out their right arms and feet from their left. Heels as they rise and fall executing the shimmies. Close view to observe rib movements, belly rolls & undulations.
