Figurines
related to Middle Eastern Dance

Monterey, California, USA - December 2006

Photos taken in Monterey antique shop, December 2006

As I cannot afford to purchase, the often expensive Middle Eastern paraphernalia of sculptures, statues, figurines and paintings, I have decided to take photos for prosperity and for my own enjoyment. I am concentrating mainly on dancing subjects. But every now and then other objects on the Middle East theme pop up and are too good to ignore. I have also added some other dancing styles, just because they are part of the dancing art world. The sad thing is that once these objects are purchased they may not be available for the public to see and appreciate, especially if they are one offs.

When ever my wondering takes me, I arm myself with a digital camera recording beautiful and rare finds in Antique shops, private homes, museums and other nooks. So keep returning intermittently to see if I have added any more. When possible I will name the shop location, for purchase, or museum for public viewing. However I will not disclose items located in private homes.

I would be happy to include other photos of unusual dancing figurines relevant to Middle East Dancing or Belly Dance from anyone around the world. To contact me, see Email link below, put "art photos" in the Subject line, otherwise the email will not be looked at.

Other photos of dancers and human figurines taken at the many Art Galleries in Carmel, California, December 2006

Carmel is a very famous place in California, which has many wonderful art galleries.
Prices range from extremely expensive to affordable.
A must see for tourists.
